Important Information about BBMACO insurance - August 08 It has come to our attention that some members may not be aware of thelimitations to the MADEC individual insurance cover which comes with Bujinkan Britain Martial Arts & Cultural Organisation membership. We are currently in the process of investigating alternative insurance schemes, but feel it is important to emphasize the limitations of this current insurance. If you, the person that you are training with and the instructor are insured, then we understand that you should be covered. We have asked MADEC to clarify this on a number of occasions and over a period of time, but as yet they have not replied. (The instructor must have current individual and instructor insurance)At the current time you are not covered if either you, the people (person ?) you are training with, or your instructor do not have current and correct insurance (including individual insurance in the case of the instructor). This may also affect you if you go to train at other clubs or organisations. It is the responsibility of the instructor (who should be directly supervising the training) to ensure that all of the insurance criteria are satisfied, so that you are covered in the unlikely event of an injury occurring. Bujinkan Britain Martial Arts & Cultural Organisation cannot and will not be held responsible, if individual instructors and class participants have not fulfilled their responsibilities in respect of maintaining correct insurance cover (within the terms and conditions of the MADEC insurance). One option may be for the Bujinkan Britain Martial Arts & Cultural Organisation to investigate the possibilities of a club insurance that could be administered by individual instructors. It is also the responsibility of instructors to ensure that training is conducted in a safe and risk free environment. We reiterate that your MADEC insurance is a third party insurance and although it is good, it is only valid if the conditions mentioned above are satisfied. In addition it only covers UK residents. We will post future developments in relation to the insurance on this website. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apply to join the Bujinkan Britain Martial Arts and Cultural Organisation, by downloading the following Membership form, which is provided in three different formats.
